The Patient Access Specialist (PAS) serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a vital role in providing seamless, patient-centered access to services throughout St. Peter's Health Medical Group and the Regional Medical Center. This position is responsible for patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, authorizations, and collecting accurate demographic and financial information to support timely reimbursement and an exceptional patient experience. The PAS works closely with patients, providers, care teams, and external offices to coordinate appointments, maintain clinic flow, and ensure schedules remain accurate and efficient. Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills are essential, as the PAS provides appointment instructions, answers patient questions within scope, and serves as a liaison to promote effective communication and timely access to care.
