What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Serve as the initial contact for patients and customers, providing assistance both in-person and via telephone
- Complete financial clearance activities prior to patient arrival to enhance the patient experience
- Schedule appointments, complete referrals, and manage authorizations for visits
- Perform pre-registration and registration tasks to ensure a smooth patient intake process
- Deliver exceptional customer service to meet the needs of both internal and external clients
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing a computer and telephone, alongside strong written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum educational requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent
- No specific certifications or licenses required
- Ability to effectively engage with patients and customers in a healthcare setting
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Successful completion of a vocational technical health unit coordinator, medical office specialist, medical secretary program, or related field
- Knowledge of medical insurance
- One year of experience in a healthcare facility, including direct patient contact and customer service
