Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration or related field desired.
• One to two years patient registration experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients by verifying identity and interviewing patient or representative in a pleasant, professional, and timely manner.
• Ensures all necessary demographic and financial data is entered into the EHR.
• Verifies eligibility and checks payor sources according to department procedures.
• Performs cashier functions for payments and deposits per cash handling policy.
• Assists with scheduling, check-out, and front desk duties as needed.
• Maintains patient privacy and complies with HIPAA and EMTALA whenever applicable.
