Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Patient Access Associate I to be the first point of contact for patients, guests, and family members, delivering exceptional service. You will handle patient access and registration using designated systems, scheduling appointments, verifying demographics and insurance, and discussing payment options.

You will greet patients on arrival, collect required information, ensure HIPAA compliance, and support the department in meeting quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years customer service experience.
• 1–2 years patient registration experience preferred.
• 1–2 years hospital or healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and schedule appointments.
• Verify patient demographics and insurance information.
• Collect and document patient liabilities and payments.
• Greet patients and review information at arrival.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and accurate data entry.
