Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center in Akron, OH invites you to join our patient access team. As a part-time, non-exempt role, you will greet patients, manage check-in/check-out, verify demographics and insurance, schedule appointments, and support billing workflows in a fast-paced orthopedic environment.

Your strong customer service, computer proficiency, and HIPAA awareness help ensure accurate records and smooth patient flow across clinics. Travel between Clinic locations may occur.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of customer service, patient registration, scheduling, medical office, or healthcare access experience strongly preferred.
• Strong computer proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office applications; excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and provide exceptional customer service while managing check-in, check-out, registration, and scheduling activities.
• Verify demographic, insurance, referral, and authorization information to ensure accurate patient records and efficient care coordination.
• Schedule appointments, maintain EMR documentation, prepare charts, and support billing and referral workflows.
• Perform insurance eligibility verification, obtain prior authorizations, and assist patients with benefits education and financial counseling.
• Answer and route phone calls, coordinate communication between patients, providers, and clinical teams, and provide cross-coverage across departments as needed.

The Essentials

• Schedule: Monday-Friday | 28 hours per week | Day Shift
• Location: Fairlawn, OH
• Travel: Occasional travel between Clinic locations

What You'll Do

• Skills: Strong computer proficiency required, including experience with EMR systems and Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance with HIPAA requirements.
