Job summary

Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support physicians in a high-volume orthopedic outpatient setting. You will room patients, document medical histories, update medications, and maintain accurate EMR records to ensure smooth clinic operations.

The role demands strong clinical and organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and a commitment to delivering excellent patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• 1–2 years Medical Assistant experience preferred; orthopedic or specialty clinic experience preferred.
• Current Medical Assistant certification within 6 months of hire; BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support to physicians in a busy orthopedic outpatient practice.
• Room patients, document histories, update meds and allergies, and maintain EMR records.
• Prepare patient charts, process forms, review orders, and support charge capture.
• Prepare injections and assist with orthopedic treatments including cast/splint procedures and DME fitting.
• Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, prescriptions, and follow-up care.

The Essentials

• Schedule: Full-Time 40 hours per week | Monday-Friday | 7:30 AM-5:00 PM


• Location: Fairlawn, OH

What You'll Do

• Provide clinical and administrative support to physicians and advanced practice providers in a busy orthopedic outpatient practice.


• Room patients, obtain and document medical histories, update medications and allergies, and maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR).


• Prepare patient charts, process forms, review orders, initiate radiology orders for provider signature, and support accurate charge capture.


• Prepare injections and assist with orthopedic treatments, including suture and staple removal, dressing changes, wraps, cast and splint application/removal, and durable medical equipment (DME) fitting.


• Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, prescription requests, and patient follow-up care.

What We're Looking For

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.


• Experience: 1 to 2 years of Medical Assistant experience preferred. Orthopedic or specialty clinic experience preferred.


• License/Certifications: Current Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire. Accepted certifications include Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA). BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.


• Skills: Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Experience with EMR systems preferred. Knowledge of orthopedic procedures, injections, casting, splinting, DME application, patient education, insurance authorizations, and clinical documentation preferred. Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care while supporting efficient clinic operations.
