Job summary

Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville, WI is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to join the Emergency Services Department on a part-time basis. The role emphasizes obtaining and processing patient information and may involve assisting with patient care under supervision.

Location: Upland Hills Health - Dodgeville Hospital Campus

Role & Department:Emergency Department Technician in the Emergency Services Department

Hours & Shift:Part-time, 0.75 FTE position (one weekend per month with a schedule of 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.) every 4th weekend and every other holiday.

Role Responsibilities:

• The Emergency Department Technician is responsible for obtaining and processing patient information as his/her primary role
• Candidates may be required to assist with patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice under direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse and Physician in the Emergency Department.

Qualifications:

• Candidates must have a current EMT certification or Advanced EMT certification or other closely related background required
• One year of past work experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred
• Experience working with an ambulance crew would be beneficial
• Prior medical terminology is beneficial
• Current BLS certification is required
• Excellent communication and organizational skills are required
• Ability to work some flexible hours is very beneficial
• Prior experience using the EPIC medical record system is preferred but not required
