Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in customer service, financial services, business, or healthcare.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive patient information.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient registration, authorization, and financial clearance for complex and specialty services.
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain required authorizations from payers.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, coinsurance, and outstanding balances per guidelines.
• Explain insurance benefits, financial responsibility, and required documentation to patients.
• Accurately gather and enter patient demographics and financial information.
• Build strong working relationships with physicians, clinical teams, and payers to prevent denials.
• Identify and resolve customer service issues while supporting service recovery.
• Screen patients for assistance programs and complete required applications.
• Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate tests and procedures with stakeholders.

• Perform patient registration, authorization, and financial clearance for complex and specialty services
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain required authorizations from payers
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, coinsurance, and outstanding balances in accordance with department guidelines
• Explain insurance benefits, financial responsibility, and required documentation to patients and guarantors
• Accurately gather and enter patient demographic and financial information
• Build strong working relationships with physicians, clinical teams, and payers to prevent denials and delays
• Identify and resolve customer service issues while supporting service recovery efforts
• Monitor, document, and report issues and trends impacting patient access or financial outcomes
• Screen patients for federal, state, or local assistance programs and complete required applications
• Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate tests and procedures while maintaining communication with all stakeholders
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, hospital, and Baptist Health policies and procedures
