Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalency required or preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a call center, appointment scheduling, customer service or medical office setting.
  • Experience handling both inbound and outbound calls in a call center.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience in a healthcare environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients and referral sources with scheduling of appointments.
  • Provide exceptional patient service by handling a high volume of incoming calls and routing appropriately.
  • Clarify information needed by callers and determine the best action.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, patients and other professionals.
  • Schedule patients' appointments per internal guidelines and physician protocols.
  • Enter patients' demographics accurately into the system.
  • Verify insurance information and confirm participation with plans.
  • Direct patient calls regarding medical inquiries to appropriate resources.
