Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Patient Access Specialist to manage scheduling, verify insurance, and coordinate pre-authorizations. You will communicate with clinical staff and act as a primary resource for caller issues, ensuring patient information is accurate and securely handled.

You will support onboarding and training, delivering outstanding customer service while upholding the organization's mission, vision, and values. Prior healthcare scheduling and knowledge in medical terminology are favored.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred.
• Certification as Revenue Cycle Representative or Patient Access Specialist preferred.
• Basic skills in MS Word, Outlook and Excel; 35 wpm typing.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is helpful.
• Minimum 2 years in patient access or healthcare scheduling; 4 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments and verify insurance.
• Review/edit/obtain pre-authorizations.
• Communicate with clinical staff on patient information.
• Mitigate caller issues and manage escalations.
• Assist with onboarding and training as needed.
• Provide exceptional customer service aligned with the organization's mission.
