Job summary

Hannibal Regional is seeking a healthcare registration specialist to schedule and register patients for planned hospital services and to obtain pre-certification.

Verifying benefits for all scheduled services, strong verbal and written communication, clerical accuracy and data input are essential. High school diploma or GED is required; one year healthcare registration or insurance verification experience is preferred, with opportunities to obtain Access Management certification within one year.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year healthcare registration preferred.
• Experience in certification/verification of insurance preferred.
• Strong communication skills, verbal, written and visual.
• Demonstrated clerical skills including telephone, filing, customer services, office equipment and data input.
• Strong organizational skills including independent problem resolution and establish priorities.
• Basic Medical Terminology preferred or competent within three months of employment.
• Ability to obtain certification within Access Management within one year preferred.
