Job summary

Southcoast Health System, Inc. is seeking a Patient Access Representative for the Primary care site in Fairhaven, MA. This full-time, day-shift role involves check-in/out, scheduling, and front-desk support to ensure smooth patient flow and accurate records.

The position requires strong customer service, organizational skills, and basic computer/typing proficiency; healthcare office experience is preferred and vaccination against flu and COVID-19 is required unless exempted.

Qualifications

• Equal to the completion of 4 years of high school is required.
• Good computer and typing skills are required.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are required.
• Good organizational skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment is required.
• One year of medical office practice experience or graduation from a medical secretary program or the equivalent is preferred.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Responsibilities

• Check-in and check-out patients at assigned practice(s).
• Perform various operational support functions including scheduling patient visits, tests and surgical procedures.
• Greet patients, answer and direct telephone calls.
• Perform various clerical and administrative functions.
• May cover different offices as needed or directed.
