Job summary

Ashtabula Regional Medical Center seeks a Central Scheduling Representative for the Clinic to greet patients and verify insurance, demographics, and medical information. You will use ACMC systems to collect data and route to Health Information and Patient Financial Services for billing.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma, strong verbal communication, and experience with medical terminology and billing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; college or business school education preferred.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills.
• Intermediate PC software knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems.
• Extensive knowledge of billing and insurance preferred.
• Two years customer service experience dealing with the public on the phone or in person.
• Two years patient financial services background (registration, billing, medical office, customer service, follow-up, or collections) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide positive patient encounter as the first impression of the hospital.
• Use ACMC systems/applications to capture and communicate data to Health Information systems, patient care departments, and Patient Financial Services for billing.
• Identify patients and required information for clinical treatment.
• Enter appropriate diagnosis, procedure, and physician information for medical records.
• Communicate with insurance companies and physicians regarding coverage and authorization requirements.
• Use online, web-based, and telecommunications verification systems to ensure accuracy and expedite payment.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, third party, and TJC regulations.
