Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care – Northgate Clinic is seeking a Clinic Services Specialist to facilitate patient access in the Family Medicine Clinic under UIHC guidelines. You will handle front-desk duties, appointment scheduling in EPIC, and coordinate with OB faculty & residents to meet patient needs while maintaining confidentiality and standards of excellence.

Responsibilities include backup scheduling coverage, staff collaboration, and participation in residency schedule

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 6 months – 1 year administrative experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet and database applications.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments and visits using the EPIC system.
• Schedule obstetrics workups and OB referrals, coordinating with OB faculty & residents.
• Upload patient imaging and ensure confidentiality compliance.
• Manage and delegate scheduling work queues; monitor provider schedules.
• Provide backup coverage for Clinic Services Coordinator as needed.
• Assist with residency schedule implementation in Family Medicine and related departments.
• Collaborate with team to resolve scheduling issues and improve processes.
