Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a medical secretarial program or equivalent.
• Six months of computer experience.
• One year clerical or clinical experience in a physician office or health care facility, or three years in a non-healthcare customer service role.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families in a professional, courteous manner.
• Schedule appointments and manage call queue.
• Answer telephone, take messages, and relay to the FHC staff.
• Gather information for payment sources, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance.
• Obtain financial data used to determine patient ability to pay.
• Collect payments and post them accurately, safeguarding cash.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
