We hire Patient Access Schedulers in a class format tied to training schedules. Training is the first 4 weeks of employment, during which we start a group of individuals to go through training together. We anticipate our next class to start on June 23, 2025 (tentatively). The schedules and shifts for this role are not yet finalized but typically include a variety of day, evening, and possibly weekend shifts, in both part-time and full-time capacities.

The Patient Access Scheduler Position Is Responsible For
  1. Pre-registering and scheduling patient appointments for assigned services at appropriate locations with suitable providers, in an attentive and courteous manner.
  2. Directing calls to appropriate departments for services not provided in Patient Access Scheduling.
  3. Receiving requests for information and ensuring timely distribution of materials.
  4. Scheduling, admitting, and pre-authorizing insurance for all patients in the assigned area.
  5. Acting as the first point of contact for our system, partnering with callers/patients to facilitate empathetic and compassionate solutions, and assisting patients in navigating our complex system.
  6. Working remotely while maintaining quality and performance expectations in a self-directed manner.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years in a direct customer-facing sales or service setting
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate of Arts degree or completion of a medical terminology program
  • 2 years of experience in a medical setting
