Baptist Health is seeking a Patient Access Clerk to schedule patient appointments across diagnostic, surgical, therapy and physician visits. The role involves gathering demographic and insurance details, registering patients, and data entry in the scheduling system.

You will work in a fast-paced call center style environment, aiming to meet quality metrics while delivering compassionate, first-rate service in a faith-based healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High School/Cert/GED/Trn/Exper required.
• Complete and pass Patient Access training.
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Detail oriented, organized, team player with strong customer service.
• Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology.
• Experience with computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office) and EMR.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare guidelines.
• Bilingual English, Spanish/Creole preferred.

Description

The incumbent will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments (diagnostic, surgical, therapy, physician office visits, and other procedures/treatments). Obtains and verifies necessary demographic and insurance information. Registers patients and enters data into scheduling system. This position requires the incumbent to be in a call center type environment and responsible for meeting individual quality metrics. Practices the Baptist Health philosophy of service excellence in providing professional, compassionate and friendly service to patients of all ages, families, employees, physicians and community members.

Estimated pay range for this position is $17.62 - $22.38 / hour depending on experience.
