Job Description

The Patient Access Senior Representative demonstrates strong customer service orientation while handling all business functions in an assigned area, including reception, scheduling, and registering patients for appointments and/or procedures.

The Patient Access Senior Representative greets patients, secures appropriate patient information, ensures registration data accuracy, validates insurance eligibility, enters information into systems, collects co-payments (if applicable), and assists with financial counseling and clearance as necessary. This role performs all aspects of the Patient Access Representative position as needed.

Qualifications
  • Experience REQUIRED: Minimum of one (1) year of previous patient scheduling/registration experience in a healthcare setting. Strong customer service skills and patient-centered focus.
  • Education/Training REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred: Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field from an accredited program.
  • Independent actions: Cross-cover all Patient Access functions, operate self-directed, train new hires, report policy violations immediately.
  • Additional requirements: May require off-shift/weekend/holiday work; may be part of essential staffing.
  • Physical requirements: Lifting less than 20 lbs, prolonged sitting, walking. Mental/Sensory skills include recall, reasoning, problem-solving, hearing, speaking clearly, writing legibly, reading, logical thinking. Capable of handling a fast-paced environment and multiple priorities.
Additional Information

May involve contact with medications and supplies. Supervisory responsibilities include training and onboarding new team members.
