Job summary

Trinity Health in Michigan is seeking a part-time Patient Registration Specialist for evening shifts. You will perform outpatient and inpatient registration, verify insurance, and collect patient financial liability while ensuring compliance with payer requirements.

You will join a team focused on compassionate care, with training over two weeks M-F 8a-4:30p. Requirements include 1 year of customer service, HS diploma, fast data entry, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 1 year of customer service experience required.
• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Data entry speed 50–60 keystrokes per minute.
• Basic computer skills.
• HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient focused customer service.
• Perform outpatient and/or inpatient registration and insurance verification.
• Collect patient financial liability payments and ensures payer requirements are met.
• Provide general information to hospital users, patients, families and physician offices.

Week 1: Monday 3p-9p, Wednesday 3p-9p, Thursday 3p-9p, Saturday 2p-10p

Week 2: Sunday 3p-11p, Monday 3p-9p, Wednesday 3p-9p, Thursday 3p-9p

Week 3: Monday 3p-9p, Wednesday 3p-9p, Thursday 3p-11:30p, Friday 3p-9p

Training: The first two weeks of training are M-F, 8a-430pm must be able to attend this*

What you will do:

• Provide patient focused customer service.
• Perform outpatient & / or inpatient registration & insurance verification functions;
• Collect patient financial liability payments & ensures that patients meet financial requirements including Medicare medical necessity, payer pre-certifications & referrals.
• Provide general information to hospital users, patients, families & physician offices

What you will need:

• 1 year customer service experience, required
• HS Diploma or equivalent required
• Data entry skills (50 to 60 keystrokes per minute)
• Basic computer skills
• HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one (1) year of hire.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Interpersonal skills to work with internal and external customers.
• Accuracy and attentiveness to detail and time management skills.
