Patient Access Representative I - Registration

As a Patient Access Representative, your role is to deliver an exceptional experience to patients, families, and visitors, from entry to departure. Responsibilities include registration, information gathering, payment collection, and insurance verification. This position offers a valuable steppingstone to other roles within Customer Service and various departments.

This position works evenings from 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM with rotating weekends and holidays.

Ideal candidates will:

• Perform registration and collect demographic, insurance, medical, and financial information.
• Crosstrain to staff all areas of patient access, such as front desk, admitting office, ED, and cash register.
• Serve as a Super User and train new caregivers.
• Provide registration and cash collection access in Epic.

Minimum qualifications include:

• High School Diploma/GED and two years of experience in a customer-facing role OR an Associate’s Degree with one year of experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Knowledge of medical terminology or completion of a related course within one year.
• Basic PC software skills and ability to use multiple data systems.

Physical requirements involve communication, prolonged stationary work, handling physical records or operating office equipment, and possibly traveling within the hospital system. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. may be required in some locations.

Standard PPE is used as required, following safety protocols.
