Cleveland Clinic is the first hospital in the nation to make great customer service a cornerstone of our mission. As a Patient Access Representative, your responsibility is to deliver an exceptional experience to patients, families, and visitors, from entry to departure. You will assist with registration, information gathering, payment collection, and insurance verification. This role is a great stepping stone to other positions within Customer Service and various departments within Cleveland Clinic.

This position requires evening shifts from 5:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with rotating weekends and holidays.

A caregiver in this role will:

  • Perform registration and collect demographic, insurance, medical, and financial information.
  • Crosstrain to staff all areas of patient access, such as front desk, admitting office, ED, and cash register.
  • Function as a Super User and assist in training new caregivers.
  • Provide registration and cash collection access in Epic.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • High School Diploma/GED with two years of customer-facing experience OR an Associate’s Degree with one year of experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to understand physician orders or completion of a relevant course within one year.
  • Basic PC software skills and ability to use multiple data systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
  • Ability to work in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Ability to handle physical records or operate office equipment.
  • In some locations, ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs in some locations.
