The role involves greeting patients, verifying information, and assisting with patient understanding of procedures. Greet and direct patients and families in a courteous manner.
Verify required patient information for registration promptly.
Maintain confidentiality of medical information.
Exercise a high degree of control over confidential medical information and keep the work area orderly and properly stocked.
Access department communications daily via telephone voice mail and/or e-mail, and make requested changes to information‑collection procedures immediately.
Act as a preceptor for new hires, providing all levels of education required for that position.
Perform other duties as assigned by the PAS leadership team.

Job Description

A Day in the Life

Greet and direct patients and families to testing and surgical areas in a courteous and welcoming manner, and be highly mobile to assist patients, families, and visitors, including transport or arranging transportation as needed.
Obtain and verify all required patient information for the registration system in an expedient manner.
Provide clear information to promote patient understanding of procedures, expectations, and the hospital environment.
Exercise a high degree of control over confidential medical information and keep the work area orderly and properly stocked.
Access department communications daily via telephone voice mail and/or e-mail, and make requested changes to information‑collection procedures immediately.
Act as a preceptor for new hires, providing all levels of education required for that position.
Perform other duties as assigned by the PAS leadership team.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree or two years of formal education or equivalent experience.
Two years of work experience in customer service, healthcare, or a business‑related field.

Eligible for a $3,000 sign‑on bonus.
