Job description

Overview

Responsible for obtaining registration information, insurance information and verification, and authorizations from new and established patients. Responsible for screening, scheduling and directing patients to appropriate providers and services. Conveys a positive image of Carle and providers' information to patients to fully utilize and benefit from Carle services both on the telephone and face-to-face. Ensures that patients' needs are met. Checks patients in upon their arrival for scheduled appointments and facilitates up-front collection of co-payments.

Responsibilities

1. Accurately and efficiently completes registration for new and existing patients.
2. Checks patients in upon their arrival for scheduled appointments.
3. Explains and completes registration and admitting forms.
4. Obtains signatures from patients and policyholders.
5. Explains and gets patient signatures for Consents, Assignment of Benefits, ABNs, and Notice of Non-Coverage forms.
6. Performs tasks related to cash drawer management including co-pay collections.
7. Requests, locates, sends, and receives patient medical records as needed.
8. Understands computer applications common to the desk areas.
9. Receives all incoming telephone calls.
10. Checks patients out in a prompt and friendly manner.
11. Demonstrates customer service excellence in accordance with Carle policy.
12. Adheres to and enforces Carle policies and procedures.
13. Attends meetings to enhance knowledge.
14. Performs all other duties as assigned.
15. Adheres to and enforces Carle Foundation Administrative and Departmental policies and procedures.
16. Demonstrates competency in all aspects of the Patient Services Representative role.
17. Suggests ways to improve processes.

Salary Range

The compensation range for this position is $16.98 per hour - $27.51 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will depend on various factors including experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked, and the compensation model.
