Job description

Overview

Responsible for obtaining registration information, insurance information and verification, and authorizations from new and established patients. Responsible for screening, scheduling, and directing patients to appropriate providers and services. Conveys a positive image of Carle and providers' information to patients to fully utilize and benefit from Carle services both on the telephone and face-to-face. Ensures that patients' needs are met. Checks patients in upon their arrival for scheduled appointments and facilitates up-front collection of co-payments.

Responsibilities

1. Accurately and efficiently complete registration for new and existing patients.
2. Check patients in upon their arrival for scheduled appointments.
3. Explain and complete registration and admitting forms. Obtain signatures from patients and policyholders.
4. Explain and get patient signatures for Consents, Assignment of Benefits, ABNs, and Notice of Non-Coverage forms.
5. Manage cash drawer tasks including co-pay collections.
6. Request, locate, send, and receive patient medical records as needed.
7. Understand computer applications common to the desk areas.
8. Receive all incoming telephone calls.
9. Check patients out in a prompt and friendly manner.
10. Demonstrate customer service excellence according to Carle policy.
11. Adhere to and enforce Carle policies and procedures.
12. Attend meetings to enhance knowledge.
13. Perform all other duties as assigned.
14. Suggest process improvements.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $16.98 per hour - $27.51 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate at the time of posting.
