Job summary

Artesia General Hospital is seeking a PRN admissions/customer service role based in Artesia, NM. You will assist in interviewing patients for insurance coverage, registering outpatients, and handling pre-certifications and admissions with a focus on accurate paperwork and courteous service.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to obtain insurance benefits, proof of coverage and pre-certification/authorization for inpatients, surgical patients and required outpatients.
• Registers outpatients and prepares proper documentation for outpatient procedures where applicable.
• Processes inpatient admissions and prepares proper documentation for services where applicable.
• Accepts patient payments and records appropriately.
• Greet and assist patients and visitors in a manner consistent with Hospital customer service guidelines.
• Advise patients regarding insurance coverage and estimate patient’s responsibility.
• Inform patients of available sources of assistance from outside public and private agencies or refer patient to financial counselor.
• Obtain verification of insurance coverage and benefits payable from insurance companies or other third party payers.
