Salary Range:

$36.00 - $41.00 USD hourly

Position Overview:

The Physical Therapist (PT) collaborates with team members to assess students and develop service plans. The PT also supports school administrators on issues related to accessibility, building modifications, transportation, curriculum, safety, injury prevention, and technology.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Licensed as a Physical Therapist by the Arizona State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience.
  • Experience working in a school setting is preferred.
  • Active AZ Department of Public Safety (DPS) IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Equivalent experience, training, or education considered.
Responsibilities:
  • Assess school facilities for accessibility compliance.
  • Evaluate student mobility, motor skills, and development; consider health factors for safety and comfort.
  • Consult with educators, parents, and professionals; develop and recommend plans and referrals.
  • Document evaluations, observations, and communications.
  • Train parents and staff on activities, assistive technology, and accommodations.
  • Screen and evaluate students with disabilities or special needs.
  • Collaborate on instructional strategies and environmental modifications.
  • Educate stakeholders on physical therapy topics.
  • Maintain confidential student records.
  • Perform screenings and observations for further assessment needs.
  • Research resources and methods for addressing student goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of physical therapy and special education regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask.
  • Ability to articulate and demonstrate professional demeanor.
  • Technical proficiency in treatment planning and MS Office.
Physical Demands:

Frequent standing, talking, hearing; occasional walking and sitting. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.

Location and Travel:

Position based in digital/remote environment. Occasional travel for site visits, meetings, and training, possibly overnight.
