Qualifications

• 2+ years of clerical, registration, and/or customer service experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors schedule daily for patients arriving at the department for the day if applicable.
• Admits/registers scheduled and non-scheduled or emergent patients for the assigned department.
• Conducts bedside admission on patients who are direct admits to the unit as needed.
• Obtains identification and insurance information; enters data accurately in the system.
• Greets patients and interviews for pertinent information.
• Collects co-payments or deposits as appropriate.
• Balances cash drawer as part of the end of day process.
• Explains facility policies and ensures consent forms and insurance documents are completed.
• Complies with Medicare/Medicaid and other insurance rules and regulations.
