Job summary

Baptist Health's Baptist Medical Center East in Montgomery is seeking a Patient Registration Specialist to handle pre-registration, on-site registration, payer identification and verification, and referrals to financial counseling. This full-time daytime role requires accurate data entry of patient demographics and benefits at the point of service.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (associate degree preferred), at least 2 years in a medical access or financial services setting, and

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree in healthcare or business-related field preferred.
• Bilingual capability (English/Spanish) desirable.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a medical or hospital patient access or financial services environment preferred.
• Training experience a plus.
• Knowledge of government programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.

Responsibilities

• Pre-registration, registration, payer identification and verification, and referral to financial counseling.
• Ensure data gathered and entered into computer systems for patient demographics and benefits is accurate.
• Verify benefits eligibility and limitations, coordinate benefits, and collect patient financial responsibility at point of service.
• Understand regulatory requirements (Medicare, HIPAA, EMTALA) and ensure compliance.
