Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking a Registration Specialist to facilitate the patient registration process across the system. You will interview patients, verify insurance, collect payments, and provide at-service support to various service lines to help move patients through the care pathway.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, about 1 year of technical experience, and basic medical terminology knowledge.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of technical experience or related field.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Identify patient and insurances per registration policy; obtain required signatures.
• Review physician orders and contact the office if incomplete.
• Coordinate data to financially secure accounts.
• Identify self-pay HAP, provide brochures, obtain signatures.
• Screen ABNs for medical necessity and obtain signatures.
• Perform QA of daily registrations and balance payments.
• Provide system-wide service line support and onboarding for new staff.
• Educate and orient new staff; meet productivity and quality standards.
