Job summary

UofL Health’s South Hospital - UMC in Shepherdsville, KY is seeking a Patient Access Registrar to greet patients, collect demographics, and ensure accurate admissions and billing. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• At least one year of registration experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Receives and interviews patients in a courteous, empathetic, and professional manner.
• Obtains and enters complete and accurate patient demographic, guarantor, and insurance information.
• Reviews patient insurance information and assigns appropriate payor codes for billing.
• Assigns patient types and beds according to registration type and coordinates with physicians/nurses for accurate placement.
• Ensures proper physician documentation in the hospital system during registration.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information and manages waiting times for registration.
• Maintains efficient patient flow and complies with policies and HIPAA rules.
