Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent; 1 year related experience preferred.
• Typing speed 40 words per minute minimum.
• Experience with medical office, billing or hospital registration preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance verification for multiple payers (HMO, MCR, MCD, BC, WC, NF) required.

Responsibilities

• Process registrations and admissions for Emergency Department, Ambulatory Surgery, Pre-Testing, Clinic or Inpatient touchpoints.
• Verify insurance, obtain precertifications and authenticate patient demographics and contacts.
• Enter patient information and collect financial data to support revenue generation.
• Coordinate with nursing and clinical staff for patient flow and bed assignments.
• Ensure confidentiality and comply with hospital policies and financial aid procedures.
