Job summary

CrescentCare in New Orleans, LA is seeking a Registration Specialist to accurately enter patients into the electronic health record, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and manage check‑in/out while ensuring an exceptional patient experience.

You will follow SOPs for pre-registration and registration, communicate with staff, and support front desk operations to keep patient flow smooth and billing accurate.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience in a customer service role or a patient-facing health care role such as billing, front desk, financial counseling, health education, patient navigation, or health clinic patient assistance.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree preferred.
• Graduate of Front Office/Medical Office program preferred.
• Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients in the electronic health record, verify insurance, collect co-pays and payments.
• Ensure smooth patient flow with prompt check-in and appropriate staff interactions.
• Follow SOPs for pre-registration, registration and payment collection.
• Communicate with supervisor about tardiness or absences with notice.
• Review schedule, visits and cash collections daily for accuracy.
• Collaborate with CrescentCare team to resolve issues.
• Suggest improvements for front desk operations.
• Provide excellent customer service with empathy and diplomacy.
