Job summary

Qualifications

• Required High School Diploma or GED, Associates degree in healthcare or business administration preferred.
• Emergency Department: minimum 3 years in hospital, physician practice, or related healthcare customer service.
• Current Jefferson Seamless Access Representatives with 1 year experience meets requirement.

Responsibilities

• Gathers accurate demographic information to identify Jefferson patients and assign medical record numbers.
• Requests photo ID and insurance cards, scanning copies.
• Records complete demographic and insurance information and verifies medical necessity for outpatient visits.
• Interviews patients to complete MSPQ questionnaire for all Medicare patients.
• Verifies insurance coverage and benefits using Real Time Eligibility, Phreesia or payer sites.
• Collects out-of-pocket liability from patients at time of service and ensures referrals and authorizations are on file.
