North Memorial Health in Maple Grove is hiring a Registration Specialist for the Emergency Care Center. The role greets visitors, registers patients, verifies information, and supports families with directions and escorts as needed.

The position requires high school completion and clerical or patient-facing experience, with strong communication and English language skills. On-site work with day shifts and a non-contract work group.

Qualifications

• 6+ month’s clerical and/or customer service experience in a hospital, clinic or physician’s office.
• 1+ years’ scheduling or registration experience in a hospital, clinic, or physician’s office preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and maintain composure in presence of customers, families, guests, and team members.
• Effective planning, organizational and detail-oriented skills.
• Solid PC skills to include MS applications, Internet, etc.
• Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to express ideas and information clearly and concisely.
• Demonstrated ability to deal with conflict in a positive manner and be mindful of others.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and arriving customers, provide directions, and escort to destinations as time permits.
• Register customers into the hospital system accurately, ensuring correct identification and data entry.
• Obtain and verify customer identification, demographic, and insurance information.
• Demonstrate North Memorial Health mission, vision, values and guiding principles in daily work.
