Job summary

Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage is seeking a Patient Access Registrar to ensure timely and accurate patient registration. You will interview patients and family members to collect identifying and insurance information, verify insurance coverage, and obtain precertifications when needed.

You will process charts according to workflow standards, collect patient liabilities, and support a patient-centered team committed to compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Prefer one year of registration experience.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Knowledge of Anatomy. Effective Communication and Computer Skills

Responsibilities

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Patient Access Registrar you will be responsible for timely and accurate patient registration. You will need to have qualities for detail and accuracy. • You will interview patients for all pertinent account information and verifies insurance coverage, ensuring charts are completed and accurate.


• You will verify all insurance and obtain precertification/authorization.


• You will calculate and collect patient liable amounts, ensuring that all necessary signatures are obtained for treatments.


• You will process patient charts according to paperwork flow needs and established productivity standards.


• You will interview incoming patients, his/her relatives, or other responsible individuals to obtain identifying and biographical information with insurance and financial information.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.


• Knowledge of Anatomy. Effective Communication and Computer Skills
