Job summary

The Florida Orthopaedic Institute is seeking a Patient Access Representative II - Benefits/Authorizations to obtain referrals and authorizations for the physician, date of service, and anticipated services. You will contact physician offices, insurance companies, and patients to secure referrals and verify coverage for scheduled visits.

Responsibilities include documenting authorizations, advising patients of potential authorization issues, and coordinating with Billing/Collections to resolve

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Detail oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
• Working knowledge of Windows-based computer environments and typing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with primary care physicians and insurers to obtain referrals prior to appointments.
• Ensure all authorizations are properly documented in the system.
• Advise patients of potential problems obtaining authorization before appointments.
• Coordinate with Billing/Collections to research and obtain authorizations on denied claims.
• Coordinate with Benefit Verification Rep to confirm benefits when problems occur.
• Utilize insurance websites to obtain referrals/authorizations.
• Ensure compliance with company plans, policies, and procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.
