Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Pre-Access Specialist at University Hospital in Louisville. The role coordinates patient orders from physician offices and ancillary departments, reviews orders for accuracy, and routes them to the appropriate servicing department using multiple clinical systems.

Responsibilities include handling orders by fax or EMR, maintaining an organized workflow, and providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers while ensuring HIPAA privacy and security

Qualifications

• PC literacy and accurate typing at 30 wpm (required).
• At least one year of patient access experience (preferred).
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Manages all orders received by fax, EMR or other sources and scans into the hospital EMR.
• Indexes orders for accuracy including physician signature, date and diagnosis.
• Provides timely customer service via phone and email; maintains professional communication.
