Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Pre-Access Specialist to coordinate patient orders from physician offices and internal departments, ensuring accurate distribution to servicing departments. The role requires dependable documentation, eligibility checks, and efficient use of multiple system applications.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma, PC literacy, and prefer 1 year of patient access experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• PC literacy; able to type 30 wpm with ~95% accuracy.
• At least 1 year of patient access experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage orders received by fax, EMR, or other sources and scan into the hospital record.
• Index orders accurately and verify physician signature, procedure, date and diagnosis.
• Respond to calls and emails in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain productivity and quality in daily tasks and support department goals.
• Work collaboratively to support and assist team members and the organization.
• Transmits patient documents accurately and promptly.
