Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years healthcare, customer services or related job experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and other commercial payers preferred.
• Certifications preferred: CHAA, CFC and CPAR. Associate or bachelor degree may be accepted in lieu of certification.
• Typing skills with a minimum of 35 wpm; familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-9/10 and CPT-4 basics; strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, communicate, and train patient access teams for Emory Hospitals.
• Define duties, assign work, monitor progress and ensure timely completion.
• Provide ongoing performance feedback and assist with departmental workflow.
• Obtain demographic and insurance information for preregistration/registration.
• Explain hospital financial policies and assist with financial counseling where needed.
• Cross-train in other Access Departments and facilities; monitor reports and trends.
