Inova Children's Multispecialty Clinic - Willow Oaks in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Patient Access Lead for a full-time day shift (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm). The role directs intake, registration, and front-desk workflow to improve patient access and satisfaction while supporting clinic operations.

As a team lead, you will mentor staff, monitor KPIs, implement tool updates, coordinate with care teams and UR, and ensure HIPAA compliance and accurate billing and scheduling to optimize the patient journey.

Qualifications

• 3 years of patient access experience
• High school diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Oversees intake operations, KPIs, and improves documentation/registration.
• Leads process improvements and trains staff on tools and updates.
• Monitors metrics, streamlines case handoffs.
• Drives financial improvement initiatives and metrics.
• Leads accuracy initiatives; trains on insurance and contracts.
• Monitors satisfaction; leads service recovery for inquiries.
• Oversees kiosk operations; optimizes patient experience.
• Leads messaging; coaches staff; promotes service equity.
• Monitors referral metrics; streamlines processes.
• Optimizes scheduling; monitors utilization.
• Monitors transport; coordinates efforts.
• Leads duplicate prevention; aligns with HIM.
• Coordinates with UR teams to reduce denials.
• Ensures HIPAA, OSHA compliance with regs.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Patient Access Team Lead Job Responsibilities:

• Leads duplicate prevention efforts and aligns with Health Information Management (HIM) protocols.

• Ensures compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other applicable federal and state regulations
• May perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3 years of patient access experience
• High school diploma or GED
