AdventHealth in Calhoun, GA, is seeking a Patient Access Associate to perform Medicare compliance reviews, estimate patient financial responsibility, and coordinate with insurance providers for pre-authorizations. You will register patients, collect demographic data, and ensure efficient, compassionate service across departments.

The role requires strong customer service skills, knowledge of EMR systems, and the ability to navigate insurance basics in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred; high school diploma required.
• Familiarity with CMS, EMTALA, HIPAA and privacy rules.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
• Experience in customer service and healthcare revenue cycle helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue notices as needed.
• Estimate patient financial responsibility and collect payments.
• Coordinate with utilization management for pre-authorizations.
• Verify eligibility and obtain pre-authorizations timely.
• Register patients for services with accuracy.
• Collect demographics and insurance details.
• Ensure coverage across shifts and arrange relief as needed.
• Coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to improve patient experience.
• Document conversations with patients and insurers.
• Attend department meetings and provide constructive input.
• Cover PBX duties when needed.
• Perform cashiering and cash reconciliation.
