Job summary

Whitefoord Health Center in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Patient Access Representative to manage front desk responsibilities, greet patients, schedule appointments, and coordinate insurance verification and billing inquiries.

The role requires strong customer service, accuracy, and reliability with experience in EMR systems and HIPAA-compliant practices. Travel between practices may be needed as part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or Graduate of Accredited Program.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a customer service environment.
• Customer service experience with underserved populations is a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office, electronic health information technology, and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Greets visitors and callers with excellent customer service, handling inquiries, messages, and referrals.
• Schedules patients’ appointments by phone and in person; conducts reminder calls 24 hours prior.
• Records telephone encounters in the EMR system; verifies insurance and eligibility for upcoming appointments.
• Assists patients with applications for sliding fee scale and forms; collects payments in EMR and manages petty cash.
• Opens and distributes mail and handles outgoing mail in a timely manner.
