Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Patient Representative to manage front desk operations, pre-registration, and registration for new patients in a day shift role. You will verify insurance, collect demographics, and coordinate with financial counseling to ensure accurate billing and smooth patient flow.

The role requires strong communication, HIPAA compliance, and proficiency with EPIC and office software. Local travel is not required; dedicated team support is provided.

Qualifications

• Typing and data entry proficiency required.
• Ability to work independently after training.
• Proficient in basic computer tasks and documentation.
• Knowledge of insurance terminology, pre-certification and authorization processes.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and related office software.
• Strong communication and active listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and handle front-desk duties with compassion.
• Register new and returning patients accurately and verify insurance details.
• Schedule appointments and support pre-registration and pre-certification processes.
• Maintain accurate patient records and data entry in the EMR system (EPIC).
• Assist with billing support and communicate payment arrangements as needed.
