Job summary

Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center seeks a Patient Services Representative to register patients, collect accurate demographics and insurance data, and enter information into the ADT system. The role includes informing patients of estimated liabilities and guiding them to financial counseling when needed.

The PSR will also handle preregistration tasks, verify benefits, collect balances, and ensure compliance with Medicare/Medicaid guidelines while delivering courteous, efficient service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Patient access (scheduling, registration and financial clearance), insurance verification, billing or certified medical assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and monitor flow for efficient, courteous care.
• Complete registration for walk-ins and update demographics.
• Verify insurance benefits and collect patient liability.
• Refer patients to Financial Counselor when needed.
• Close visits, schedule follow-ups, collect payments.
• Maintain knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and payer requirements.
• Communicate issues to management for service improvement.
• Meet productivity and accuracy targets.
• Maintain positive relations with patients and staff.
