Job summary

AdventHealth in Columbus, NC is seeking a patient access coordinator for a PRN, Night-Weekend shift. You will support Medicare compliance reviews, estimate patient financial responsibility, and coordinate pre-authorizations with insurers and clinical staff.

You will register patients, collect demographics, verify insurance, and arrange payment plans while delivering excellent customer service and documenting all communications. Proficiency with EMR systems and HIPAA rules is expected.

Qualifications

• Mature judgement in dealing with patients, physicians, and insurance representatives.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft programs and familiarity with database programs.
• Ability to operate general office machines and perform multi-task work efficiently.
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Adherence to HIPAA privacy rules and government guidelines.
• Bilingual – English/Spanish; experience in customer service is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs Medicare compliance reviews and issues ABNs as needed.
• Creates accurate estimates for patient financial responsibility and collects payments or sets up payment plans.
• Coordinates with utilization management for pre-authorization and provides necessary information to patients.
• Verifies eligibility and benefits with insurance companies and obtains pre-authorizations within timeframes.
• Registers patients for services, collecting demographic and insurance details.
• Delivers excellent customer service and documents conversations with patients and payers.
