Qualifications

• High School or GED diploma required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in acute care or related field preferred.
• Willingness to cross-train in Admitting, Business Office, ER.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Medical terminology knowledge.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Filing and typing skills.
• Familiarity with HMO/PPO contracts beneficial.
• AHA Healthcare Provider BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and collect demographic information per regulations.
• Verify third-party eligibility and reimbursement information.
• Register patients and maintain accurate records; cross-train as needed.
• Recognize stroke signs and execute stroke alert procedures.
• Assign temporary IDs in the ED and complete full registration on arrival.
• Maintain stroke knowledge via annual online training.
