Job summary

University Hospital is seeking an Admissions and Registration supervisor to assist team leaders with shift operations and productivity. You will oversee daily functions across Admissions and Registration, Financial Counseling and Bed Control, ensuring that admissions and discharges are accurate and timely.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, with preferred clerical training in medical terminology.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; clerical training with medical terminology preferred.
  • One year of college study or clerical training with medical terminology is preferred.
  • Experience in a hospital/physician practice with insurance verification and pre-certification knowledge is preferred.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists team leaders and managers with the supervision of shift operations and productivity. Promotes team environment. Oversees the daily functions for Admissions and Registration, Financial Counseling and Bed Control. Ensures that admissions and discharges are accurate and timely. Maintains strict confidentiality of patient records. Provides excellent customer services and adheres to the standards and behaviors of University Health .

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required. One year of college study or the completion of a recognized clerical vocational training program with medical terminology is preferred. Must have one year of experience in a hospital/physician base practice with knowledge of insurance verification, pre-certification. Billing and contract knowledge is preferred.
