Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• 5 years patient registration, business office or billing experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient demographic and financial information and prepare the account for billing.
• Interact with third party payers to verify insurance benefits and inform patients of financial responsibility.
• Process Medicaid applications and assist with Charity Care programs.
• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments and manage pre-admission testing flow.
• Collect payments and perform cashier duties; provide financial counseling as needed.
