Job description

Join to apply for the Patient Access Advocate I-ED role at Presbyterian Healthcare Services.

This role involves primary registration of patient accounts for self-pay, government, and commercial accounts, ensuring accurate data collection, insurance verification, and providing excellent customer service. The position requires basic knowledge of Medicare guidelines, healthcare registration processes, and customer service experience.

Pay Range

Base pay ranges from $15.00/hr to $20.57/hr. Actual pay depends on skills and experience.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED
  • 6 months experience in healthcare or 1 year in customer service
  • Successful completion of Patient Access Academy within 6 months of start
  • Preferred: CHAA, CHAM certification; basic insurance and medical terminology knowledge
Responsibilities
  • Perform patient registration, verify insurance, collect liabilities, and ensure accurate documentation
  • Provide exceptional patient experience using CARES, AIDET, and EPE tools
  • Address and resolve complaints, manage conflicts, and escalate when necessary
  • Educate patients on insurance benefits and liabilities
  • Ensure accounts are financially cleared at the time of service
