Job summary

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• 1-3 years in billing, insurance or registration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients timely and accurately and creates accounts/medical record numbers.
• Verifies insurance coverage and collects patient co-payments, deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses.
• Completes insurance verifications, pre-certification and/or authorization for assigned accounts.
• Generates patient estimates and educates patients on plan benefits; collects deposits.
• Maintains positive relationships with patients and family; ensures privacy practices.
• Coordinates internal messages and CCDS imports; responds to calls promptly.
• Checks medical necessity by confirming CPOM order and care status at admission.
